CHAMBER CHOIR

CHR 368

Chamber Choir, Toppenish High School's premier choir, is a rigorously auditioned ensemble of experienced singers. This ensemble consists of 9th-12th grade students who have passed an audition to be in the course. Members of this group can expect to perform in several full choir, small ensemble, and solo competitions. Students in Chamber Choir travel to all music contests and participate in all concerts and activities. They are regularly awarded Superior Ratings at Choir Adjudication.

The Solo & Ensemble competition is another individual and small group competition in which each student is encouraged to participate. The Choir Director will assist with the selection of music and preparation. However, in order to compete as a soloist, the student must also take responsibility in learning and memorizing the music outside of rehearsal time. In 2020, our THS Small Mixed Ensemble won First Place in their category, earned a Superior Rating, and qualified to compete in the WMEA State Ensemble Competition. In 2022, three ensembles won First Place in their categories, and they performed beautifully at the WMEA State Ensemble Competition at CWU.

As the most prestigious choral ensemble at THS, only the most dedicated and hardworking students will be invited into the group.
